DESCRIPTION:The Memorial Day Parade is an annual family-orientated event to honor military veterans\, both past and present. One of the VEC’s primary goals is to reach out to veterans of all ages and to those who wish to show their respect and appreciation to those who served.  \nThe parade route will begin northbound from the intersection of South Main Street and Lincoln Avenue. The parade will proceed north on South Main Street to East Third Street. At East Third Street\, all parade participants and vehicles will continue to Troy Street. Participant vehicles will be encouraged to turn off the parade route utilizing Williams Street\, South Troy Street\, or Knowles Street. Participant walkers will continue north on Troy Street from East Third Street where they will continue to march to Centennial Commons Park for the remembrance ceremony. \nA remembrance ceremony will take place following the parade. The ceremony will be held in Centennial Commons Park adjacent to the war memorial. \n9:00 AM - 11:00 AM\n9:00 AM – Start of Parade 10:30 – Remembrance Ceremony \nThe parade will begin at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and S. Main Street\, moving north on S. Main until turning onto E. Third Street\, before concluding at Centennial Commons for the Remembrance Ceremony at the Veterans War Memorial.

The first fleet of only nine boats was battered by strong winds and only three finished. Today\, Bayview hosts more than two hundred fifty racing yachts for the annual trek from Port Huron to Mackinac Island. Whether sailing the traditional shore course or the longer Cove Island or South Hampton course\, it is an exciting and challenging adventure and sailors must face every conceivable type of challenge Mother Nature can present.
