Are You Up For the Challenge?
Neighborhood House “Kicks-Off” Exciting Revamped Event

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – After 11 successful years of the annual “Scare Away Hunger” event, Neighborhood House is continuing the beloved community-centered tradition… only this time with a twist! The 2021 event called the “Neighborhood Challenge to Scare Away Hunger,” encourages “neighborhoods” of families, friends, and coworkers to create a team, set a goal, and “FUN-raise” to support members of our community facing hardship. Kathy Losinski, Executive Director of Neighborhood House says, “The idea is to encourage and mobilize members of our community to come together in support of our neighbors in need.”
On Friday, August 13, at 4 p.m, Neighborhood House is hosting a Facebook Live “Kick-off event” to celebrate and recognize the event sponsors. The kick-off will be held at the Neighborhood House main office (1720 S. Livernois, Rochester Hills MI 48307). Joining us will be Edgardo Perez, long-distance runner and avid Neighborhood House supporter, to share why he continues to support the organization’s mission and what this means to him personally. Sponsors are cordially invited to join in on the festivities.
In August of 2020, Edgardo Perez attempted his most extensive race, which he named “100 Miles 4 Hunger.” With the encouragement of his neighbors, he set his goal to successfully run 100 miles within 24 hours while raising $5,000 to support the Neighborhood House. Not only did he achieve these enormous “feet”, but he is also now calling on his community to join him this fall. Edgardo says, “In the last 18 months we have all faced challenges and uncertainties. Coming together as a community will give us the opportunity to participate in three powerful ways: moving, donating, and supporting each other. Gather (with your neighbors), Move (any activity counts), Donate (to help those in need)!”

The First Annual Rochester Pet Walk!!

This will be my 11th year. Although this year will be different from the past, it will be very fun and exciting to represent Special Olympics Athletes once again as part of the ongoing Inclusion Revolution. I am a huge fan and proud supporter of the Athletes and the wonderful program Special Olympics has to offer. Real Estate One Charitable Foundation is amazing, and the support with a 50% match of all donations for this cause is generous, which is how we roll here at Real Estate One.
Please help me support Special Olympics Michigan by donating through my page. The process is fast, easy, and secure. Thanks so much for your support… and please don’t forget to send this page to any friends you think might be interested in donating!
