Downtown Rochester will sparkle with holiday spirit as local merchants show their appreciation to the community during the much-anticipated Lagniappe event. Join us on Monday, November 25th, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, to celebrate Lagniappe’s 51st anniversary, where “a little something extra” awaits all our valued patrons.

Lagniappe, a Creole word for “a little something extra,” embodies the spirit of giving and appreciation. It’s the perfect way for the merchants of Downtown Rochester to express their gratitude to the community for their support throughout the year.

Once again, the Rochester Downtown Development Authority (DDA), in collaboration with City of Rochester officials and MDOT, will close Main Street for the event. Main Street will be closed from Second Street to University Drive from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Detour signs will guide traffic around Rochester and Rochester Hills. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking, and due to the large crowds, we kindly ask that you leave your four-legged friends at home.

As part of the evening’s festivities, the DDA will present “a little something extra” with the debut of The Big, Bright Light Show, sponsored by Fox Automotive. The program will kick off at 6:00 pm on stage located on the crosswalk of W. 4th Street & Main, with the Mayor, Channel 7, and a special guest appearance by Santa Claus, sponsored by Viviano Flower Shop. At 7:00 pm, The Big, Bright Light Show will illuminate Downtown Rochester, followed by a fireworks display, also sponsored by Fox Automotive. Afterward, children can share their Christmas wishes with Santa from 7:15 pm to 9:00 pm.

6:00 PM: Viviano Flower Shop welcomes the crowd
6:10 – 6:30 PM: Phoebe Holmes of the Keynote Sisters performance.
6:30 PM: Meadow Brook Carolers followed by brief program.
7:00 PM: The Big, Bright Light Show followed by fireworks.
7:15 – 9:00 PM: Visit with Santa.
