Light the Village 2017

The 16th Annual Light the Village is on November 17, 2017. This holiday tradition hosted by the Village of Rochester Hills brings the community of Rochester Hills and the surrounding neighborhoods together for an evening of celebration and “plain-ole” fun! It’s about giving back to the community and kicking off the holiday season. It’s an evening for families and friends to come together and experience a TRADITION; the tradition of music and entertainment, the tradition of a festive light display, the tradition of SANTA’s arrival and the tradition of family and friends gathered for a community purpose.

“After a 16 year tradition, the Village continues to keep Light the Village unique and fresh with new features each year,” states Marketing Director, Shelleen McHale. “The City of Rochester Hills brought us an amazing light show two years ago, and this year it will grow with a sponsorship from Ascension Crittenton Hospital. The fireworks have become one of the highlights of the event along with the lighting of our Village and of course the arrival of Santa.” In addition to lighting the Village with over 800,000 lights, which includes the 25 foot Christmas tree, the sky will once again be illuminated with fireworks and music show. It is truly an event families do not want to miss! Kick off the holiday season with us and bring donations to support the local Meals on Wheels program that is brought to our community through the OPC.

Festivities begin at six in the evening with family-friendly activities, music and entertainment. The annual parade will kick off at 7 o’clock sharp with the highlight of the trip down Village Main ending with the man of the hour, Old St. Nick!
Motor City Irish Dancers, Caroling with the Violette’s, Dancing with Pointe Academy, Bounce Houses, Mini-FireTruck Rides, Hot Cocoa from the OPC, Soup from Noodles & Co, Stilt Walkers, Facepainting, Glow Sticks, Parade with the Rochester Hills Fire Department, Stoney Creek HS Band, visits with Santa….and more!
